DoC's Splash Ford Replacement contract involved the following scope:

Site Clearance
1850m2 of cement stabilised and chipsealed bridge approaches
2800m3 of bulk fill for approaches
Existing culvert extensions and new piped culvert construction
Supply & Installation of Lograil barrier system
Construction of 11 Removable Precast Deck Units
Construction of 11m x 4 x 2m box culvert complete with wingwalls and scour aprons and settlement slabs
Traffic Management

This project was undertaken within Westland National Park, where specific requirements catering for both variable weather conditions, and risk management of flash flooding and rockfalls were put in place. An innovative approach combing both precast and insitu concrete elements resulted in these risks being minimised, as the physical works were accelerated by simple, yet very efficient methodologies
