SOUTHBROOK STORMWATER POND A
WAIMAKARIRI DISTRICT - RANGIORA
The pond was lined with imported clay, complete with landscape planting, insitu concrete inlet and outlet structures, and 600m of drainage swale formation.
The innovative element of work on this project was the completion of the largest diameter pipe to be rammed in the South Island at the time. This involved installing 82m of steel casing beneath the Level 2 Lineside Road and Main South Trunk Railway, including working within the KiwiRail operational corridor. Within the steel casing, a 750mm stormwater pipe was subsequently installed.
